This cozy one room cabin, FINS, nestled up on a cliff at the water's edge has
all the comforts of home. With a spectacular view of the cove, mountains, and
glacier, you can wile away the hours relaxing on the deck, listening to the
mesmerizing sound of the water lapping on the shore while you contemplate the
rugged beauty of the scenery. This cabin getaway is perfect for those who want
to enjoy the tranquility of nature at it's best, in a "fancy camping"
atmosphere.
While in Bear Cove you may want to kayak, dig clams at low tide, pack a picnic
lunch and hike the short trail to Loon Lake. You can pick red and black
currents and high bush cranberries in the fall, or if you have arrived in your
own boat you can halibut fish in Kachemak Bay just outside the island. Do you
like birding? We have seen a large variety of birds including a pair of eagles
that have built a nest behind the cabin and hatch an eaglet every summer. And
last but not least of course, there are the bears.....
